I frequently get asked what my favorite song is. Honest, I was a musician for 15 years (I say "was" in the past tense because I haven't touched my flute in a good 6 months) and I've studied music from Beethoven up to the contemporary Rihanna and such.
So I have a running list going, and in no particular order:
1. "Walking in Memphis" - Marc Cohn
2. "Jolene" - Dolly Parton
3. "Bless the Broken Road" - Rascal Flatts remake
4. "Stand" - Rascal Flatts
5. "Change" - Carrie Underwood
6. "Landslide" - Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac
7. "Fortunate Son" - Creedence Clearwater Revival
8. "I Won't Back Down" - Tom Petty
9. "Say" - John Mayer
10. "Let My Love Open the Door" - Pete Townshend
11. "I Want to Break Free" - Queen
12. "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen
13. "Far Away" - Nickelback
14. "Feels Like Tonight" - Daughtry
15. "Alone" - Heart
16. "Independence Day" - Martina McBride
17. "If I Die Young" Band Perry
18. "The House That Built Me" - Miranda Lambert
19. "Away From the Sun" - 3 Doors Down
20. "Miracle" - Vertical Horizon
Anyway.
So I'm a little eclectic ... from classic rock to country to modern pop. I love music, I appreciate music .. I can't just peg down a favorite song. Although I did ask my brother to perform "Bless the Broken Road" on acoustic guitar at my wedding. And he did a great job.
I can tell you, however ... that my favorite bands/artists are: Daughtry, Nickelback, Carrie Underwood, Alanis Morrisette and Celine Dion. :)
I feel like I could have written this list :) great choices!
