Let it snow ....

I try not to judge when weathermen up here tend to be way wrong in terms of their predictions. I mean, did they or did they not go to college for this? The key word is in fact "prediction" ... but when I'm told multiple times by different stations on the morning news that we'll be getting 3in of snow and it turns out to be more like 7 or 8?? That's a big difference.
Turns out no one in Portland was prepared for it either. Driving your little Corolla in at least 5 inches of unplowed snow is just tons of fun. (Read: Painstakingly slow.)

My townhouse complex felt it was necessary to plow the main drive ... but none of our cul-de-sacs. ( ??? )
My first thought was: Well, maybe they'll wait until midnight or so and take care of it after all the freezing rain stops...
Nope.
No such luck. I walked out to my car in the same, sloppy 8inches of mess that I came home to. Except this time ... the snow was frozen. Getting my car unstuck took a little more effort than I would like to.

This is just one of those days I wish I could go back to bed and just start over. Even my favorite cup of coffee isn't helping the mood.

Blah!

  1. Only weathermen can be completely wrong 50% of the time and still get to keep their jobs.

Take it slow out there. No amount of boss yelling for being late is worth getting into an accident!

  2. I hated living in snow. Digging the car out was the worst... and driving a little manual mazda 3, wel that was a joy!
