MilSpouse Friday Fill-in

Ya know? 7 days to the big day, I think I can start marketing myself as a Marine Spouse a little prematurely. ;)

1. What is the silliest get-up you have ever worn outside of a Halloween party? (from To The Nth)
I don't know why the heck my mother ever let me dress myself as a child, because I go back and look at these photos of myself and for some reason, I thought that matching a floral print shirt with floral print shorts and completely mis-matched colored tube socks was a fashion statement? Dear God, half of my childhood I looked RIDICULOUS! I think these photos are going to surface at my wedding.

2. What is something that you gave up in order to live the military lifestyle? (from Pennies from Heaven)
I have a hard time sacrificing control -- and that's exactly what I did. Especially the control over geography. I *hate* moving. I put roots down, make friends, and then have to start all over. THAT makes me cry. I'm tired of making new friends, I'm tired of my new friends having to move. Yes, we have all kinds of communication methods now: but it's not the same as being able to run over to a friend's house with a bottle of wine, two glasses, some popcorn and a corny chick-flick.

3. If money wasn’t a factor and you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? And why? (from Life and Times of a Displaced Jersey Girl)
My college EuroTour!! I'd go EVERYWHERE in Europe. I'd spend copious amounts of time at the German Stallion Station, I'd go ride Connemara ponies in Galway, Ireland. And then I'd go to all the places DREW has been (excluding the middle East). I want to see things; I've been so sheltered my entire life....

4. If you were going to join the military, what branch would you join? Or which MOS/rating would you choose? (from And You Never Did Think)
Navy or Air Force; and I would be a commissioned officer in the Public Affairs track.

 5. What is your favorite thing to make for dinner? (from Armendinger Party of 4)
Pasta! It's like an instant-fix to my "what do we have for dinner" problem.

  1. I swear, mothers let their children dress like lunatics so that they can use the photos for blackmail some day. Don't feel bad... we all looked like a blind schizophrenic dressed us as children. :)

  2. That's too funny. My parents never let me dress myself. My mom has a thing about matching, to this day... if my clothing looks off, she will say something. Perhaps it's why I am so anal about clothing. :D
