Incubus of Viral Plague

Dear immune system:
In February, less than 1 week after I started my new job? You landed me with the flu. I looked and felt like death. But I never get the flu, and I figured I'd take a few weeks and get back on track. Two weeks after we recovered from the flu ... we ended up with a cold and an awful bronchitis-sounding cough. No sooner do I cease the coughing and sniffling when:

ALLERGIES?!

1) I'd love to get some lovin from the husband at some point. I'm a hacking, sneezing, sniffling hot piece of ass. Who wouldn't want to jump in between the sheets with that? I'm not counting or anything, but it's been .. awhile. I think that means we're "officially" married now.

2) Husband works close to 80 hours per week. I work 2 jobs and technically? I work 7 days a week. I don't actually have a "day off". As such? Since I don't exactly see husband ... I like to make the most of our time together. And you know something? Stuffing what appears to be the contents of an entire tissue box into my pockets so that we can go on a walk and I can get out of the house? That's a pain. And it's gross stuffing my used tissues into the front pocket of my sweatshirt. Husband won't hold my hand because I'm an incubus of viral plague.

3) I'm running a race in June. And I've been trying to train for said race since FEBRUARY. But something about uncontrollable coughing, nasal drip and just ... geeze, everything? Makes it impossible. However: I'm still hungry as hell and I've put on some weight in the last 10 weeks and uh ... my pants don't fit my ass anymore. AWESOME. I'm beginning to feel a little bit like a Hobbit ... aka: Short. And fat.

I'm just suggesting, immune system: that we pretend we're back in College, and getting sick is just not convenient. At all.

Sigh.

  1. I'm sure you know this, but do you take supplements? Along with a daily multi-vitamin I take an omega supplement that contains Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9, and a blend Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Borage Oil. Besides the marketed heart benefits, it's also great for your immune system, your skin, and of all things PMS because it's helps your brain balance your hormones. Since I have been taking this consistently, I have hardly been sick for a very long time.

Just a suggestion. Hope you and your immune system get things worked out. :) Good luck.

  2. Girl, head to the doc. It's possible you may need some Rx allergy meds if the OTC stuff isn't kicking in.
