The President ... ?

I dislike debating, especially over politics. But in the last 10 minutes, I’ve fielded at least 5 or 6 phone calls from Mainers demanding that I tell the News Program Director to remove President Obama’s speech when Rush Limbaugh is on. Direct quote: “Do NOT air the President when Rush is on! I don’t care what President Obama has to say, I’m listening to what Rush is going to say.”
This is me with a shocked face.
I may not be President Obama’s biggest fan, but I respect the fact that he is currently the President of the United States, and therefore takes priority and precedence over regular news programming. The part that shocks me, is that when the President speaks: no one wants to listen.

THAT is a big problem, asshat or otherwise? He’s our Commander in Chief … and deserves to be listened to. It just seems … un-American to completely ignore the President. And it should say something to the President that we would rather listen to someone else do the talking.

  1. I'm Obama's biggest anti-fan, and if given the choice between the two, I'd rather listen to Obama over Rush.

    Rush is UBER annoying.

  2. I'm not a fan of either, but it doesn't matter- the President is still the leader of our country, and NO ONE should have precedence on television of him, whoever he is. Gah, this gets me all riled up. :)
