3 weeks until move-in!

I don't think I've made much of an actual "post" this week, and its been all memes. :-|

If you've ever visited me in Maine, you know that while my apartment isn't gigantic, it's a nice comfortable size at 920 square feet. One of my favorite things about this apartment is that I have a boatload of closet space. Roomy walk-in closet in the hall that we use as Drew's "Marine Corps Dungeon" ... aka storage space for all of his uniforms and such. Two long closets in the hall, plus the closet in each of our two bedrooms. Count 'em, that's 5. I also love living in an end unit that's next to a utility road and the backside of the "C" Building apartments and the woods; so basically, it means we have a huge amount of space with which to rough house with the dog and not worry about her getting hit by a car. The complex itself is situated against a neighborhood, so we're walking distance to (2) parks.

But!
It would be really nice not to have an upstairs neighbor, seeing as our current neighbor and her family are evidently restless people and don't sit still for more than 3 minutes. It's a lot like listening to a herd of elephants.
It would be really nice to have a kitchen that's not NYC galley style. (I think my kitchen is 5' wide by 7' long).
I would love at least another half bathroom ... Drew and I get ready at the same time, and inevitably, one of us is standing outside doing the pee dance in the morning.
It would be awesome to not have to fight for a parking space, since we're only assigned 1 spot and there are 2 buildings fighting for "X" amount of spaces.
And, I'm not gonna lie ... I miss having a washer and dryer.
I would really appreciate central heat and air conditioning at one point in my future.

All the pros and cons aside?
While it's 100% not a practical move since we're PCSing somewhere else this time next year ... meet my new townhouse:

I think, in the long run ... we're going to love having 1200 square feet as opposed to 920. The townhouse does have a patio/grassy area, which is going to be excellent for both of our animals. Yes, it's less storage space. And yes, we're still going to have to fight for parking spaces ... but I'm ready for a little more space to breathe! (PS: no upstairs neighbor!)

  1. We also have upstairs neighbours that are extremely restless and think it's appropriate to vacuum at 11:00 p.m.
