Smoky Eye?

So.
Our Marine Corps Ball is next weekend ... and I would love to do a smoky eye in silver/black. Anyone have a quad or a palette they recommend? The silvers I have are a little bit too ... matte; I want 'em to shimmer! Generally, I add some pigment to get the effect I want but that stuff is messy!

Also ... I have the world's longest lashes; but they never seem to get quite as dramatic as the falsies. Think I should use them?

  6. For a cheaper end, Maybelline has some good, shimmery quads in their eye studio collection but you have to wear primer with it to make it last. Cream shadows tend to last a long time too but usually don't come in quads. My favorite is Make Up Forever ($22 each at Sephora - ouch). It would make a good base for your powders too and very shimmery. Kat Von D has a few palettes on Sephora that feature silvers - I hear they're pretty nice but have never used them. Moving on to mascaras, Buxom Buxom lash ($19 at Sephora or you can get a gift set that comes with it and a samples sized for $18) is my absolute favorite and I have puny little Asian lashes. Sephora has a few favorite mascara sets right now (one for $30 and one for $45) so you can try a bunch for not that much money. Clinique High Impact mascara is also one of my favorites ($14.50). I also recommend fake lashes too! Sorry for the long comment. As you can see, I am a bit of a make up addict.

  7. If you want versatility, go for the Urban Decay Naked palette - it's got two silvers in it that would work, and you have all of the rest of those beautiful colors to work with for the rest of the time! Check out UD in general if you want a high-impact silver.
